What is wrong with you people? You guys must not like this band's sound cause this album is basically just a well produced extension of who they have always been. The songwriting is so simple yet speaks so much, and the music is tight and catchy. I don't know if the songs are necessarily their best songs, but they're close. And this album as a whole is definitely their greatest work to date.
  • First track is killer the rest is "poppy" boredom

Why do great bands feel the need to attempt to appeal the faceless, bland majority? I love TPC but man this album is a struggle to listen to. It's so poppy and predictable it's positively boring. Their first 2 albums are awesome though - don't hesitate to check them out.

I have been a long Tokyo Police Club fan and yes, their sound changed but I find it wonderful. The whole album is on repeat. I would recommend the entire album. I didn't regret it. I don't think you will either.

I have followed and enjoyed this band for quite sometime now and love all of their albums.. But this one stands out to me.. It's good, but I feel this bands mood changed. It's happy but not as happy as the other albums. I feel like this bands potential is infinite. I think the band just needs exposure to thrive and keep that incredible upbeat, explosive, quirky sound. That is just my opinion

Disappointed. Very, very disappointed. Maybe 2.5 good songs on the album, considering how the long the first song is. Sad.

I highly regard both the songwriting and instrumentation of previous TPC albums. They really stood out from a sea of mediocre peers all trying to do similar things. Unfortunately, this latest album is an awful attempt to capture a pop vibe for a band that thrived on a much more substantive core in previous efforts. While there’s nothing particularly wrong with it, they are blending in too much without their signatures- keyboards and quirky arrangements. Lyrics are ok, but not the tapestry you’ve come to expect. To be clear, there’s nothing wrong with a pop vibe (whatever that really means.) I love plenty of “pop” artists. To give credit, the lead singer’s voice sounds so much smoother, and their arrangement tighter. But that experimentation is lost. I wanted this to be a wonderful mashup of pop tunes, lyrics that paint a picture, and edgy arrangements. But it just isn’t there. It’s not a bad album- it’s just not up to their calibre.
  • Polished with minimal edge

This record is ready for the radio. Depending upon how "indie" you are will determine if that is a good or bad thing. I'm indifferent. The record sounds great. Everything is mixed well and production seems spot on but I liked the grit that came through some of the older EPs. Also, the lyric content seems a little blah. Nothing on this record is as inventive as say "citizens of tomorrow" - mainly these songs appear to be about girl troubles from my first few listens. Not their best, maybe their worst but still better than some other stuff out there these days.
  • A sad departure

What happened to one of my fave electro-rock band?! They've completely lost their edge and unique style on this latest album, and I'm bummed. I guess it's back to the older albums. I wish my NYC guys would get it together.
