Mark Keali'i Ho'omalu has a voice that transcends, and since his mission is to take a dying tradition and continue it, with his modern influences, he is a true transcendent artist -- able to reach the heart, mind and senses. I recommend catching PBS's Point of View (P.O.V) episode on hula, which features Keali'i Ho'omalu's work: American Aloha: Hula Beyond Hawaii.

I fell in love with Mark Ho'omalu's voice when I saw him and his halau in a documentery "Amarican
Aloha" his music is truly intrancing and, being a hula dancer myself I would love to dance to his music. I recomnend Halepi'owai, Wai'oli, Ka Wohi Ku I Ka Moku and Ku Ka 'Oli'oli I Na Moku.

After really finding about Mark Ho'omalu through Disney's Lilo and Stitch, i was immediatley entranced by his voice and his amazing chanting ability. After hearing this album i have little doubt of his capabilites.
This album is steeped in traditional Hawaiian chants and culture and Mark portrays it in a way that will give you goosebumps and have you hanging on every word. This album is a must have for everyone who appreciates the beauty of Hawaiian culture and tradition.
Great album as Apple drops the ball

This album is fantastic -- it's too bad you can't have it. There is nothing like hearing the soul of oli reincarnated in the locomotive pa'i and gut-filled i'i of an edgy kumu. Hoomalu's style is a perfect vehicle for the echo of an ancient rhythm. The Apple store has missed many, many sales by not having it available for purchase but only as a tease to customers. Auwe no ho'i e!
