Jeff Lorber introduces a monster new band

Wow. I used to see these guys in the U City Loop area of St Louis years ago playing Corea Electric Band stuff, Rippingtons, Special EFX, stuff like that. I heard they were working on a disk for awhile now. Glad to see it here. It does not surprise me that Jeff Lorber is involved. Could not be a better match up out of the gate. Lorber produces, mixes, co wrote three with the band, and plays keys on all tunes. He must like whats going on here and if you are a Lorber fan you will too. Eric Marienthal handles the sax on all tunes except the title track, where Nelson Rangell takes over on soprano-and it's beautiful. St Louis keyboardist Tim Pascoal is also on that one. Kevin Ellis on bass, Joe Calandrino on guitar and some keys, and Chris Noonan on drums are Dreaming in Colour. They combine an edgy fusion vibe with great grooves and melodies brought to life with Lorber,Marienthal and Rangell. This is a super group in the making. This band takes the gloves off and bridges smooth jazz and fusion. If smooth jazz had a Steely Dan, it would be this band right here. Ellis,Calandrino, and Noonan have teamed up with Lorber to craft a stellar CD here. I look forward to many more......but what I really want is to see these guys live again, playing this record...they will tear the roof off! ( the liner notes to this disk are on their web site)
