Extra-Wonky

Man, I thought the tracks Stagga had on Warm Air room were wonky, but if this is any example of where his work is going, I'd say he was only dipping his toe into the pool last time. It's almost impossible to imagine people dancing to this, so there's not much "club" value in these songs, at least as far as I can tell. However, Stagga remains one of the paramount Dubstep producers, willing to sacrifice a little danceability (for now) and charging headlong into new areas rhythmic structure and progression within Dubstep, and it's well worth it. The bass lines dip and dive, throwing the listener around, keeping us guessing as to what will happen next. And don't look to the percussion for solid ground, Stagga keeps things very syncopated. The remixes are laughable, but I honestly don't mind, given that remixing tracks like these must've been like "Okay, seriously, what the hell am I supposed to do with this?!". But like I said, Stagga's music seems to be going out further than most Dubstep artists are willing to venture these days. And honestly, most good art is ahead of taste, so it won't be long I think until kids are dancing to this too. Cheers.
