I only heard it once and I bought three albums after that, to come to terms with how it made me feel. There's a lot of advice and hard won life lessons on the album. It made me sad because we've all been through these situations. Made me realize that I still have a lot of work to do on myself. So I went back in time, to the songs I was listening to, at the time I was in the situations that I felt I had no control over - where others won and had the upper hand over me. I could have done something at the time and I didn't know how. Black And White America gives me the advice that I needed to hear when I was alone and didn't know any better. It forces me to focus on my life now and do better... because people come and go, and the ones who stay, are the ones who care about you... and that you have to learn to care about, because they teach you all you are supposed to know about yourself. You change and influence each other... by bringing out the worst first, and then showing each other how much good is still buried deep inside, once the hate and anger is out of the way.
It's an album that will make its mark on me, because I needed it and I didn't even know. When you don't have expectations in life, the words you need to hear come out of no where.
