Illuminate

I was in much anticipation of this album especially after hearing the first one. Well I'm glad to say it didn't disappoint. The direction Dominic is going is refreshing and original, which is why i say finally some real music! Not to mention the just pure raw grit of the players on the tunes! As a die hard contemporary jazz fan, i can say that a lot of players are putting out songs, but most of them aren't really saying anything substantial with their horns. Not the case with Dominic. This cd proves that theres still real talent out there. He gives you a perfect balance of that smooth jazz melody, with just enough of the fusion inspired chops that make you wonder how his fingers move that fast. Check out New Creation and my personal fav This Love is Forever. Better yet, do yourself a favor and buy the entire cd.

Great rhythms and blends. Love the different beats with smooth voices. A nice array of featured guests. A great job for a long awaited CD. Dominic Amato is a fantastic young talent! A must buy!
