The Blind Boys threw a curve ball and released a country record? I wouldn't have guessed it, but I'm so glad they did. This album is amazing. I love the production, it sounds like they just all got in a studio for a few days and just hatched it out and put it on tape without looking back. You can actually hear the engineers and producers talking to eachother at the end of tracks. It gives the album a spur-of-the-moment feel. My favorite songs are "Have Thine Own Way, Lord" (featuring Jamey Johnson), "Family Bible" (featuring Wille Nelson!!), "I Know A Place" and "I Saw The Light" (featuring Hank Williams, Jr). Buy it, you won't be disappointed!

Download this record! I'm not a country or gospel fan but I LOVE THIS RECORD! I saw the Blind Boys of Alabama perform a few years ago and have been a fan ever since. This record literally gives me goose bumps. Amazing guest artists, including Jamey Johnson and Hank Williams Jr., among others, make it one of my new fave records of 2011. You won't be disappointed.

It's not often I actually call a CD perfect, but it only took one listen to draw that conclusion from the Blind Boys "Take The High Road". Every song is poignant, and with a guest line-up that includes the likes of Willie Nelson and Hank Williams Jr., you know they were on to something special with this project. Buy it, you won't regret it.
