Schrot's attempt to sing these songs (tangos) sounds very artificial to me. His voice sounds very operatic at all times. To me he fails at finding the middle ground that true performers (although they may be vocally trained) need to find in order to offer an appealing rendition of this kind of repertoire. He sounds somewhat unexperienced at approaching popular music. His diction is way to operatic and his line is too legatto for a true tango. I finished listening to this recording wishing for a honest and more natural way of singing. I guess that's one of the risks of attempting this genre when you're so concerned about your voice. One more follower of Domingo in approaching popular music from a "conceded" prospective.
