Great song from a great show

Just saw "Prometheus Bound" this evening - it was a truly amazing show. I urge everyone who can make it to a performance to go out and see it. The music, the lyrics, the staging - all fantastic! And, of course, the timeless story of Prometheus, civilization's first prisoner of conscience. Shirley Manson does a very nice job with this song (after all, she's a truly gifted singer), but honestly it loses some of its power outside of its context. And Serj Tankian (another phenomenal artist) did an outstanding job scoring not only this song, but the entire play. I can only hope we someday get a cast recording, or maybe a full album of songs from it each with a different great artist singing. Now that would be a great project that could probably raise a lot of money for Amnesty International. Anyway, this is a great song - if you're thinking about buying it but are on the fence - come on now. Just click 'Buy'. It's only 99 cents, after all, and it goes to AI. And you get a really good song to put on your ipod. It's a no-brainer.

When I actually listen to the song I am dissappointed. It seems uninspired and without a 'spark'. That wonderful voice from Garbage seems subdued. Even mellow songs from Garbage's albums have a certain intensity that's missing here. Also, while the voice and melody seem in synch I'd swear (even after listening a couple times) the percussion is not.
