So, as much as I loved Forever Young back in the 70’s & still do, I always loved this album more. It’s such a trip, such a complete immersion in another world. Wonderful in a way that showed why so many things about the 80’s simply would never be outdone (Prince, Depeche, New Order etc)… the eBay music since then it’s always this artists that were there, splintered from there or were influenced by the 80’s. I’m sitting here listening to the newly remastered album on vinyl, and Bernard Lloyd says in the book that the new 2021 remaster finally has the sound they always wanted! It sounds fantastic, although it seems this on iTunes is not that version so keep your eyes open! I slays thought the original album on CD sounded indeed like a Fantastic Dream, but spinning this vinyl does not disappoint!

Three young Germans certainly knew how to create some amazing music. Today, Marian Gold (Hartwig Schriberbaum) is the only remaining member in the band, he know performs and makes music with a younger generation of artists. Recently the band performed in NY for the first time to permote themselves.
Another great album!

This is one of Alphaville's best albums from 1986! They're just amazing and unique! I listen to Alphaville pretty often. I hope Alphaville has a new album from 2015 after the released album from 2010, Catching Rays on Giant. Alphaville never gets old!
Love it!!

I have always emjoyed these guys and continue do so up to the Marian Gold release several years ago, "Catching Rays on Giant". Listen to I Die For You Today and be transported to their hey day! On "Salvation" there are lots of standouts; my faves are Monkey In The Moon, Wishful Thinking, Flame among others. Still love Alphaville.
Fantastic!

Afternoons in Utopia combines wonderful lyrics and musical composition. I love the albums beginning and its end. The songs, Carol Masters, Jerusalem & Fantastic Dream are among some my all time favorite Alphaville songs. This album is wonderful and fantastic and worth every bit of your money and time

Light, elegant, fanciful. Reminds us that all is not lost. Play, laugh, love.

One of my favorite cassettes. A bit different from their first lp but that is why I probably liked it so much. I loved Lassie come home. Too long and a bit dreary but very cool. It took me about a year to realize that Lady Bright was actually the intro to IAO. A continual loop.
I liked it then, I like it now

When this came out I played it start-finish. "Red Rose", "Sensations" and "Dance with Me" make me want to dance... er, drive fast. "Universal Daddy" has wacky lyrics and suffers a bit of 80's lock, but it's so dang catchy you'll be slapping your steering-wheel to the beat.
Some of the best songs on this album are the slower ones. I used to lay back and "contemplate deep thoughts," as teenagers do, when I played this tape - yes, I said tape.
There are a couple of weird ones in there though; "20th Cent" and "Lady Bright." They take a while to get used to but eventually they grow on you (and you stop skipping them).
I forgot how much I liked this band. I always thought they were ahead of their time
