Finally a real artist from the new generation! Taking obvious influences from the pioneers of underground hiphop; Perhaps with the storytelling abilities of atmosphere's slug, the speed and philosophical musings of eyedea, the abstract qualities of his long island predecessor aesop rock, and the laid back, poetic style and heavy wordplay of sage francis, come together with a delivery and style all his own. Long Island native, AllOne has released a collaberative album with original mosaic of sounds and styles, heartfelt, abstract, creative, thought provoking lyrics. This album is hard to define, there are so many musical styles, blues, soul, folk, acoustic rock, ambient music and more. Three of the songs (will she ever change, twilight blues and circles) he allows other artists to take the spotlight, until he comes in densely and emotionally, affecting the listener just as strongly in a fourth of the time. The wordplay is intricate, the subject matter is relevant and refreshing, and the delivery is refreshing and varied. (See "intertwining storytime" for the fastest rapping on the album) Not a gimmick, not an imitation, with an easily distinguishable style, heavy replay value, this is someone to look out for, perhaps the most creative hip hop artist to come out of LI since Aesop rock.
