Experimental, yet listenable

I prefer this over Dave's previous works such as The Glad Fact, etc. It's definitely artistic, but plays around with a central theme, Don Henley's dream. His singing style has improved considerably since the previous albums and the songs are so much more manageable while maintaining the experimental feel through use of unconventional parts like the drone/tenor sax/Dave trio in But in the Headlights and interesting chords like the marimba line in Tour Along the Potomac. Definitely check this out.
