I'll be honest I am a much bigger fan of oysteins ambient pieces than his jazz. But if you appreciate both styles of music and I would be in that crowd, he does a masterful job of both genres. Of course there is a mix of all genres in his music but these come out as the dominant styles. Gleam of Light is one of his best comteplative ambient pieces in my opinion. Phoenix brings back that Oystein airy synthesizer sound that all of his fans love, wonderful fusion piece of electronic jazz combined with classical stylings mixed throughout the piece. This guy is not hugely popular in America, but give this cd a chance. I did with link in '94 and he has been my favorite artist bar none, since.
