Although this is not at all what i expected (since i am somewhat familiar with Salett's and Goldings' work), I was nevertheless very VERY pleased with this record. There is a timeless quality about the original songs, and the standards are well chosen and delivered in a new light - particularly "This Time The Dream's On Me" - which here sounds like it could have been written by the team of Sondheim/Bacharach/Richard Carpenter!!!??!! Originals like "Nothing Left To Break," and "Her Face So Still," are haunting and beautiful. Peter is heartfelt throughout and Mr. Goldings' accompaniment skills are second to none. Great work.

these are two performers who really know how to get emotion out of a song - Love Falls Down is my fav but I love a lot of the songs on this cd. any jazz fan who likes vocals will like it, but i think it actually could appeal to just about anyone - my 5 year old son sings along!
  • Great Collaboration!

I have been a Peter Salett fan since "Heart of Mine" but had not heard of Larry Goldings. Wow! What an amazing piano player. Went to see them at Largo in LA and was blown away...this might be the best I've heard Peter's voice sound. The originals sound like classics, and the standards sound new and fresh. The songs mostly have a mellow quality you don't hear much these days. Definitely check it out!
