This album is one of my all-time favorites and takes me back to my bittersweet high school days. Besides the hit single, it has some beautiful songs, especially, I Cant Let Go Now, which is a tearjerker if ever there was one. I can listen to it today and the album holds up well!

One of the most passionate albums ever! His words on every song is about love lost and heartbreak. He’s being so vulnerable on this album- I’m sometimes moved to tears listening to it as I remember how I’ve felt about lost relationships.

I had this when it first came out and played the h-ll out it, these are some of the greatest songs he wrote coming out at the starting gate, his first solo. I love all three of his albums of HIS work, not covers. This one, No Lookin' Back, and Blink of an Eye are all classic Michael McDonald at his best. Get all 3 and you will understand. "I keep forgettin'" is great but SOOOOO overplayed. Take a chance on the whole album, you won't regret it. And get the other two, No Lookin' Back and Blink of An Eye

It seems that the late drummer Jeff Porcaro could do no wrong. As he clearly demonstrates in the Starliks video presentation on my I-pad screen about constructing patterns and technique along with exercises. He also tells about the two basic grooves such as straight 8th and 16th note and shuffle that are derived from triplets. He also explains about the jazz cymbal beat. It is all precise and to the point. No wonder I love to hear him talk all about the fundamental rudiments. He also says about listening to as many records so that students can hear different drummers and different grooves. And how they interpretate those grooves. And to play as much as possible. He has for a great backup rhythm section. His late brother Mike on bass and David Garfield on keyboards.Oops forgot to mention Mushanga and how it all comes together. Wow! What a huge mega talent that had to die so young. And what a loss to the world of drumming and also to the band Toto. Truly one of the greats. And still number one. He will always continue to appear in my dreams playing drums on my heartstrings forever and ever. 🎼🎷🐱🐈💚😈🎺💽😂😇📀🎧💜🎸😏❤️🎻💿📱🎹🐯🎤📲💛💙. My romantic fantasies.
