  • Great album … but...

A really great new work based on the original Tubular Bells. Be warned that the version of "Sentinel" in this album is not the original from the vinyl or CD. It is a remixed single by the same name. The original is over 8 minutes long. As far as I can tell the original is not available here.

I saw Michael Oldfield perform this entire album, track by track at Carnegie Hall when it came out. It was one of the most memorable shows I have ever experienced. I still get chills remembering a group of ten or twelve bagpipers suddenly striding out onto the stage during Tatoo and playing in unison....Michael Oldfield outdid himself with this effort.

Part 2 of the Tubular Bells Trilogy. Definatly a Step up from the first tubular bells. Very stylish and intricat. When I heard the first Tubular Bells WHAT A Awesome Ablum, When 2 Came out I was blown away. Great easy listening music. One of my all time favorite albums then came Tubular Bells III. Also there are several incarnations of the origional and the 2003 version, ALL awesome listening music

This is the best Oldfield album. Since its creation, I have been waiting for other one like this. Now sadly, almost 20 years later, I have to accept that probably it will never happen again. Enjoy this master piece.
