Perhaps his most complete album. Showcases all aspects of the late maestro’s genius
Put it on repeat.

Heard this album in '81 and was instantly taken by the great arranging, Al's wonderful voice, Steve Gadd's amazing grooves! Jazz and pop never had a better meeting. This album is inspirational and joyous! From "Distracted" and "Alonzo" to "Spain" this album is a true classic and it transcends the years! Enjoy!

My aunt use to play this album in the summer of 1980 I was a young boy playing with my toys. She would play Distracted over and over and sometimes would just let the whole album play. I grew to love this album. The song Alonzo I loved especially, the heavenly sounding ending always brings tears to my eyes. Years later as a young man I heard this song played on the radio, I had not heard it in years and it took me back to my young years.

The song Alonzo will always be my favorite. I went to grade school with an Alonzo was killed in the Army in the mid 80's, he was a class act.
Magnificent album!

This album was the very first album that I heard from him. From that moment I was hooked and I never gave it back to my music teacher. I was a freshman in high school, I have followed him in concerts for the last 31 years and I hope to catch him in Germany in April at the jazz fest.
Every track on this album is great -

every single one. I have so much music, it is hard to listen to everything on a regular basis - I hadn't heard Al Jarreau in a while and decided to play "This Time" and instantly remembered why I was so in love with this album when it was released. Don't hesitate - buy it.
