1. "So Much Trouble in the World" (1989): this cover of the Bob Marley classic was produced by the legendary Bunny Wailer, the last surviving original Wailer, who turned in an inspired performance.
2. "Leave My Brothers Alone" (1989-90), a Terry Lin original, was recorded around the same time, and was produced by Benny Diggs and legendary club diva Jocelyn Brown, (of "Somebody Else's Guy" fame), and features some of the incredibly talented South African singers and percussionists from the Broadway hit, "Amandla!", which is Zulu for "Freedom". Jocelyn and Connie Harvey also lent their incredible voices to the track as well!!
Terry's teenage rant against oppression and apartheid in South Africa inspired the singers to write a Zulu Chant:
"Amandla!" (Freedom!)
"Sonqoba Simunye!!" (We shall conquer as one!)
"Inkululeko Iyeza!" ("Freedom is coming!)
"Imona Benqaba!" (Even when they deny...)
3. "Telephone Lover" (1989-90): The first single from "Unity", produced by LaVaba Mallison who also produced "Let's Get Busy", "Your Body" and "Leave That Guy" and managed numerous hip hop acts including the great Kool Moe Dee. Please remember that these (4) songs were produced during the "Bobby Brown" era and they probably sound that way!
4. "Let's Get Busy" (1989-90): For those of you who were around at the time, you'll remember that "Let's Get Busy" was a catch phrase Arsenio Hall used all the time on his popular late night show.
5. "Your Body" (1989-90): Another T.Lin original. Tracking was done in New York City, but vocals were recorded in Los Angeles. Comedian Robert Townsend sat in on the vocal sessions and was very funny and cool to meet.
6. "Leave That Guy Alone" (1990): Also produced by LaVaba Mallsion, who recruited top session guitarist Paul Pesco, who was on Madonna's first "Like a Virgin" tour and who ironically was recruited by another producer to play on T. Lin's Motown album as well!
7. "Hush" (Soul Deep Mix) (1993)--previously unreleased--is another T Lin original, was co-produced by "Commissioner" Gordon Williams, who engineered and produced numerous hit albums, most notably, "the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill". "Hush" is a down tempo house groove, with all tracks--other than flute--by yours truly.
8. "Telephone Lover" (Frankie Knuckles Headhunter's Remix) (1990-91): Frankie, the legendary "Godfather of House Music" lent his golden touch to this Classic Club remix of "Telephone Lover" that was dubbed "Headhunter's Mix" as a result of the wild swirling vocal effect Frankie used in the remix!
9. "Roxanne" (Live on FM Select HK) (1996): an acoustic performance of the Sting/Police classic from a live radio broadcast recorded during a promotional trip to Hong Kong, on FM Select. At the very end, you can kind of hear the DJ say, "You're listening to Terry Lin Live on FM Select and on the Nightflight, and the song, Roxanne".
10. "Stay" (1996): another previously unreleased T Lin original, all vocals and instruments performed by T. Lin.
11. "Welcome to Oz" (1996): a previously unreleased T Lin original inspired by the HBO show, "Oz". All vocals and instruments, including a rare wailing guitar solo, by T.Lin.
12. "Hush" (Instrumental) (1993): this instrumental version of "Hush" features the flute playing of Robert Aaron.
