Reviews

  • Can't seem to get into it!

I couldn't help but think of this is Marillion, nursing home style. And I do appreciate the artistic approach, but instead of putting out a studio album with these songs- they should have just done the tour and recorded them like this live. And I just can't seem to take this album seriously, even though I'm sure it will grow on me. It leaves me with the feeling that they are getting old and tired. It hurts to write this because I'm a huge fan!
  • Laid back acoustic songs

Nice to hear a full cd of acoustic tracks of prior songs. But, I find myself skipping over tracks that I didn't enjoy the original and acoustic re-doing hasn't helped Ie...If my heart were a ball.

Well the band has reached a new low in my opinion. A rehash of songs, somethat never really were good anyway. Since they have abandoned their Progressive Roots, what is really the point?? Buy the new Porcupine Tree instead.
  • Nice acoustic change of pace

After watching the band's video posts during the making of this album, my excitement was building to get this new release. Itunes finally posted it for sale today on its release date in the UK. I've never been the first to write a review! The songs have been reworked from their original studio versions and given new life. all new arrangements and instrumentation. This is a great collection of Marillion classics given new life by the band. It's always a risk when bands reinterpret their own material, but Marillion sure new what they were doing. My favorites are This is the 21st Century, It's Not Your Fault (a new tune) and Hard as Love. I look forward to listening to this album all through the upcoming winter.
