This is an amazingly sultry album, just as sexy and as rich as The Essential Teddy. Not a bad song on it. He's one of the greats, that's for sure. I remember the first time I heard Teddy, was just 16 and on a bus in the Bahamas. I ditched my dad at the fancy resort and went out to explore. The bus was bumping along when a Teddy Pendergrass song came on the bus radio but I had no idea who it was. The woman in the seat in front of me started singing along. She knew the song by heart and was really grooving on it and I thought, Who is this? This is amazing! This memory is forever with me...the Bahamian woman on her way to work, singing along with "Got to take it easy", snapping her fingers, swaying with the gorgeous voice of Teddy Pendergrass. So sad he's gone.
