I have never cared or liked opera. But when this special man opens his mouth the sound I hear is like a voice from god himself. I really would love to hear his songs in English. I know it wouldn't be the same. But I think it would be mesmerizing So Paul if u read these reviews , sing engilsh for me. For all the people that love your voice. I just want to hear "everybody hurts" in English Or I guess I need to learn to speak Italian
Great voice.....

I really enjoy his second cd. I find myself replaying track #5 which hasn't let me hear too much with the rest of the cd. He really puts his heart in his songs which I can feel. A must have for your collection. I wish people would stop comparing him. He is himself is that okay?

I love Paul Potts' work, here's 5 stars. That said, please indulge my observation that his reviewers give him either the most or the least stars possible, nothing in between. Seems diehard opera fans just can't stand it that some people with good voices appeal to the masses with something somewhere in the range between snobbish and common. But why shouldn't there be a place for it? I love "A Time for Us," for example, and I'm delighted to hear a new and different version of it. (I've collected up to 40 versions of songs I really like.)
I have a feeling that if the puritanical opera fans would try to be a little more objective and give up another star or two now and then, then maybe Potts' diehard fans would be a little more comfortable dropping a star now and then when appropriate.

Paul Potts may not be as full and expressive as many opera singers (at least he licks Neal E. Boyd!!), but his voice is still very beautiful in a different and recognizable way. It's pure sound is almost angelic and a few of the songs, La prima volta and Un Giorno Per Noi for instance, moisten my eyes whenever I listen to them.
This is not OPERA!!!!

Paul Potts has a voice that is like nails on a chalkboard. Anyone that has heard opera singers in a natural settting know how an operatic voice sounds like. This voice is a "studio" voice meaning that while Potts may have a good voice; good old electronics can "fix" a voice to sound anything you like it to be. This voice is just a bad voice. I don't care if he won one of those "pop" thing is England. Give me the original covers for these songs. Potts will never be Domingo, Luciano or even a good opera tenor. Stay in the shower Paul!

That's how opera is, you cannot expect him to come out of the gate and be completely his own act. His voice is nothing like Sarah Brightman obviously, so hearing him cover her songs is like a totally different song. I think its beautiful, opera is the music of the soul.

As for me Paul's voice is great! He should be allowed artistic liberties if he so chooses to change a song. Artist perform at a different level from the listener . Hopefully the music and lyrics are speaking to the artist to make the song personal.
