Okay, let me say this first - I'm mostly a metalhead, also big into prog rock & a little jazz. I'm generally not a fan of dance music, can't dance to save my life. But, every now I then I find some dance music that has that special combination of actual talent, razor sharp production, and killer sound. This album has all of that and more. My favorite tracks are More man than man, and Hello Yellow. Everything on here is at least pretty good, and goes up from there. I hope there's another Antigone album planned for the future.
  • Strong sexy voice singing good poetry over percolating rhythms!

What a great set of songs! OK, the only one I having warmed up to yet is Into Your Head. All I was familiar with was Funky Dancers and More Man Than Man, which are quite a bit more pop than the other songs so on first play, it was a bit of a surprise to hear the percolating electronic under the elastic, yet strong vocals. On second play, and reading along with the lyrics, I was TOTALLY into it. Promiscuity - jazzy, smart and sassy - great opener! Hello Yellow - my current favorite! Funky Dancers - my original favorite - has a good beat and you can dance to it More Man Than Man - dance, dance, dance!! Mirror - the rhythm is hot and the lyrics are great! Uberwoman - another hot song!! Life Without You - the song Janet Jackson keeps trying to make, but can't quite do it Palomino - ... oh my palomino ... Waking Up Slowly - the chorus just creeps up on me and stays in my head In general, I like all the melodies - the music is consistently good (Shave, you are quite remarkable) and the vocals are excellent throughout, from sassy to sex kitten to chantuese to hot and funky- always convincing and intriguing. I'd love to hear Antigone live and I look forward to hearing more from this talented artist.
