I was LUCKY enough to have met J-Dilla in 1999 & call him a friend! So when I was told that this project was going to be released it warmed my heart & the many many hearts of his family & friends! Ma Dukes herself warned me that "it's was gonna be fire J, watch out!!" The Album Cover is a picture of all of us @ Dilla's Funeral saying our final goodbyes (captured by B+). I attended the LIVE version of Suite for Ma Dukes & was FLOORED @ how amazing it was, hopefully they release all of the other songs they performed that night. This is a MUST HAVE for anyone who is a Fan of J-Dilla's Work! don't sleep and spread the word lets keep his musical legacy growing! :)

Beautiful, classy interpretations of great songs. And for only four dollars, you owe it to yourself to buy this. Finally a Dilla tribute that isn't made to capitalize off of his posthumous popularity, but to actually benefit the family.

Admittedly, I've not been the overall Dilla Fan that many in my circle seem to be, however, I have always loved his joints and I'm an absolute sucker for... Miguel Atwwod-Ferguson, Orchestral Music, Hip Hop, Carlos Nino, B+ / Mochilla, J-Rocc and (of course) long drives from the FAR West Side to see all my friends between sets, so...
I was there... and completely and uterly BLOWN AWAY! I'm buying these tracks (because I can't wait), I'm buying the CD ('cause I couldn't wait in line last night), I'm buying the DVD (ASAP) and YOU MUST HEAR THIS!

I had the honor of being there to say good bye to Dilla (thats the album photo above at the Glendale Cemetery captured by B+), and during the ceremonies, the Roots played a few of his songs live which brought anyone in their right minds to tears including myself. It wasnt until I heard these tracks that I actually felt that rush of chills run through my system again.
Dilla was your favorite producer's producer, trust me. And this Ep is a great way to honor his work...
