Oh my God.... This song really rocks! This is so much better than Idina Menzel's single version. This version by the awesome Kerry Ellis gives new life to one of my favorite songs ever!

While this version of "Defying Gravity" is my favorite above all the others, you can purchase the full "Wicked In Rock" EP from Kerry's website. It includes a rock/pop version of "I'm Not That Girl" and "No-One Like You" from the West End musical "We Will Rock You." It's worth the extra price!

ok... this may not sound very nice... but in a way, this song has been recreated so many times and it appears everyone has put there mark on it... i will admit however that the rock component was genius... still nothing compares to the invincible versions of idina menzel and stephen schwartz... sorry kerry! something just empowers me with the original! i luv this one 2,,, don't get me wrong!

I saw Kerry as Elphaba in London... her vocal power is amazing! It really comes through in the recording. All due respect to Idina, but I think this is my favorite recording of 'Defying Gravity' by far. She is also my favorite Elphaba :)

That's exactly what Kerry is. If you've ever seen her perform her version of DG live it's amazing. I love this version, her voice is rich and pure, absolutely sensational! I adore Idina, but I like Kerry's rock version better than Idina's pop version.

Idina doesn't compare. just because idinas first doesn't make her the best. Kerrys version in my opinion is much stronger and more convincing. but julia murneys my favorite elphaba.

She is good, I will say that, but she's choppy, and can't pull it off like Idina Menzel can. If you want "Defying Gravity" fly away with the traditional copy, and if you want this version, I won't stop you from facing reality and falling off you broom.
