  • Definitely worth buying

I have been a fan of Kid Ramos for a number of years now and anything that he has worked on that I have heard, I have liked a great deal. Kid Ramos's name made me check out this band and this is a really good band. If you are a fan of Los Lobos, Los Lonely Boys or any of the bands that mix blues, rock, Texas border music, Mexican folk, etc, you are going to really like this band. I am really looking forward to their next release. Definitely worth buying.
  • Terrific Mix of Blues and Ranchera

The entire album is a happy romp, skillfully played, through the musical landscape of Southern California. Kid Ramos' awesome blues guitar mixes wonderfully with the accordion of Jesus Cuevas, making the ranchera-inspired music accessible to listeners who may not have been familiar with it. At the same time, some blues-rock numbers like Day After Day and You Ain't Nothing But Fine are infused with accordion where we might be used to hearing a harmonica, and it works . . . big time! Even Clifton Chenier's All Night Long is given a new twist, and we hear the connection between zydeco and Mexican ranchera, infused with all-American blues. This is our culture in Southern California. This music reflects what we hear every day, and Los Fabulocos stir it all together and make it sound beautiful.
