A pinnacle of light in a sea of today's smooth jazz blandness. 'Listen Baby' and 'I Tried To Tell You' are two examples of how good George really is today....... Terence Gaynon

Yes he has done it again just try to choose between his keyboard work and the lyrics that you can almost see the story of love and how life can have you in it's crosshairs will make you say do not change your style Mr. Duke.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, the funk stuff is good, but THE BEST SONGS in my humble opinion are the slow burners: "Right On Time" is a masterpiece (just when I thought he couldn't top "No One" from the "Duke" album). "Listen Baby" is a jazzy concoction that casts a seductive spell. "I Tried To Tell You" is mellow and subtle. This is George's best album, as a whole, in years.
  • A sweet treat!

This is a timeless classic. George Duke has done it again. He is definitely consistent when it comes to releasing an album. This is just another addition to the extrodinary anthology of George Duke. Every title on the album holds true.

I heard the song Dukey Treats on the radio Rete Tre in Ticino while on vacation. I thought, here is another classic funk song I should probably know about but I don't, and then I saw "2008" as the release date on the radio display. I almost slammed on the brakes of my rental car in the middle of a street in disbelief! Whaaaaaa?? Classic genuine unbelievably good funk . . . in 2008? Yes it is true . . . and . . . it . . . is . . . dee-licioussss. Enjoy!

FONKY like no other. fun, and supa bad. The songs, musicanship, ensemble playing, and life George and friends are laying down here, results in a wonderfully exciting gumbo. All the elements in the hands of a master chef served up in a feast of funk. It all about the FEELING, the devil is in the details. Hit me with the Dukey stick ! HIT ME! HIT ME! HIT ME! try one it once , you'll be back for more In a world of ready-mades and the knock offs Sir George and company are tearing it up, and breaking it down, down ,down. Amen.
