I agree with the statement by "the empty glass" that if you've heard Freekbass live, you've heard this album. But I disagree that this album is "meh". This album is the portable, live Freekbass experience!
Grooveyard is much of their recorded material. True. But this is their best album: It's Freekbass being free. In the intro for the song "Time", Freekbass asks "Who needs keyboards?" And that's what makes this album stand out.
Their recorded albums sometimes over-rely on synthsizers to add the urban R&B feel. But Grooveyard showcases the strength of the bass. Tricked-out bass is what this band is all about. They should put the bass front and center more on their studio recordings.
