I have found Nova's music to be quite moving as she sings from the heart of her life. The added blessing is that she is my friend and if you think her voice is great you should meet her - WOW! "Lost" is my favorite on this cd, I hope you will give it a listen. "Mother and Son" has such personal meaning in my life that each time I hear it I am covered in goosebumps. Please buy Nova's cd, then tell your friends to do the same!

I heard this young lady live, last year at my church. I remember siting there kind of waiting to hear the same usual worship singer and then she opened her mouth and I was moved to tears. Her voice vibrates the air and connects to you on such a deep level, most singers only wish to effect their audience as Nova does. She can literally make you feel what she is feeling with one note, its an amazing God given gift. I asked since that day and times after when she sang at church when her CD would be out and finally it is here! I am so happy that it has stayed true to her unique sound and vibe, this CD will be a favorite of mines for a long time to come. May God bless you and keep you Nova!

I found this album to be one that is and is going to be, for a long time, loved. You can tell that this was not one of those "I wrote this in 21 days" type of project but one truly born out of experience and pain. Like all great art this is a piece that will stay in my collection for quite sometime. The range, quality and sheer emotion that many of the songs evoke make one wonder about their own life and inner character. The album on the flipside has a very fun and light quality as well. What Nova has melded together here is great writing and pure music that dovetails perfectly into what we all want...a great work of art for our personal collection. Listening once gives you a feeling of satisfaction while your tenth time through there is a feeling of true appreciation for what this young woman has given you. I always know a great piece of art no matter what medium by the relective quality that it etches upon myself. Whether it be thinking of a great sculpture and then doodling it on a scatch pad later or reciting lines from a movie whether it be a classic or something new. Well "On the Couch" has caught me many times with no warning humming or singing a wide selection of the tracks. Image speaks to the depravity of selfworth so many young women face and is incredible, Deeper just gets you right between the eyes and Do something makes you want to throw away the remote and actually be part of something greater than the mundane which so many of us get rooked into. I want to say so much more about Plans and Awake but the last two I would love to share are Never Left Me and Mother and Son. Never Left Me is one of those songs that just makes you feel like there is hope, a commodity so lacking in so many these days. The African American choir and the solid core that sets the foundation of this song really gves you one for the ages. This is a song I can see being sung at the Grammys. Actually if it isn't I will be very surprised because it just seems to fit for everyone no matter what color, age or socieo-economic place. Then you have Mother and Son and it has you going one way and then depending on your musical acumen flips the script on you later on in the song. The emotion that this gem evokes is truly a testament to the strength of this young ladies writing abilities. One must listen to this bonus track or they will truly miss out on a classic. This Five Star masterpiece is one that i hope the public really gravitates to, for if they do Nova will become a SuperNova.
