Big Sam's Funky Nation rocked JazzFest 2008 in New Orleans on the Congo Square stage, and then he blew it OUT at the small and VERY cool venue of Tipitina's in the French Quarter, where I bought this album. I would call this explosive, jazz-funk music, that you really need to hear in person to truly appreciate the unreal energy that this band brings. If BSFN is ever near your town, definitely go and dance and sweat with Big Sam and the band! I have been to lots of shows, but this is DEFINITELY one of the best and most fun shows that I have EVER seen. No matter what your musical tastes are, you will dig these shows and you will always love Big Sam forever!
