I had the good fortune to be invited to see Peter Cooper perform live recently (9/08). He's excellent. Very talented. While watching/listening, I kept thinking to myself that he's got the talent to make it all the way in the music business. Lots of stories told in a great voice with just the right inflection, humor, grace. I love this cd.

This is why I listen to NPR (well, one of the reasons). Cooper was interviewed and snippets of this album were played by Bob Edwards. Great album from beginning to end. Sheboygan and 715 are worth the price of the album. Can't miss a catchy song about predestination like the former and its time someone said those things about Hammerin' Hank in the latter.

This one will appeal to fans of Todd Snider or Nanci Griffith (both of whom sing with Peter on the title song) or to anyone who likes musical storytelling. Kris Kristofferson said of this, "Peter Cooper looks at the world with an artist's eye and a human heart and soul. His songs arre the work of an original, creative imagination... Deep stuff. And they get better every tme you listen to them." Steel guitar legend Lloyd Green is the main instrumental voice of the album.
