Another K-tel scam. Don't waste your money.
  • NOT the original — very disappointing, a $20 Rolex

Enough vintage CD's come out with new covers so that I didn't have any reason to suspect that this was anything other than the original. From the opening bars of "Evil Woman," the absence of the horn section left that great tune bland and feeling like just some cover band at a cheap bar. It *seems like* one of those situations where a couple of surviving members of a band set out to cash in on their previous success, so they remixed everything, changing it badly in the process. It's the musical equivalent of a knock-off, a counterfeit. If you've never heard the original, maybe you'll enjoy this reasonably enough. I don't recall enough of the rest of the album to compare those cuts. But I think it reasonable to expect iTunes to post some sort of disclaimer for these new, unauthentic versions. Yeah, the album's only $4. But I'm going to ask for a refund, on principle, and wipe it from my drive.

The song "Look" was written by Tank Sherman of Minneapolis in 2004, and recorded, along with the rest of the album, in 2005. "Chest Fever", "Waiting for the Wind", and "Satisfy Susie" are also new recordings for Crow, not re-recordings."Something in Your Blood" was recorded by the original Crow but it was never released. Obviouslv Dave is still a kick butt singer.

All the songs on this album (Before the Storm) are Re-Recordings from the 1990's made by Dave Wagner, Crow's lead singer.

I can still remember this band from the late sixties. These guys were by no means one of the best bands to come from Minnesota. Rock On ! This album has a rough edge to the sixties rock music. These guys were way ahead of bands such as BTO.

I've waited a long time to see this album (CD) on itunes or in the store. You have to listen to each and every song to appreciate the vocals and talent of Dave Wagner. It's too bad that his solo album is on vinyl only. There will never be another Dave Wagner.
