Confused like same band

Growing up in Chicago during the early and mid 80's you could not go with out getting a little metal. Guitar bands like steeler, priest and metallica were there. Ever hear of "The Thirsty Whale". Yes there was a band named Icon and they were to be heavyweights, powerful was not enough to describe them. This ICON is not the same HELP !!
