Adult. continues to get better and better. This album is by far their boldest and best album. Blending true experimentation and noiz into a raw emotional experience. I love it. I recommend it. This is the future.

Sometimes I listen to ADULT for a week straight and I just have to walk away --- I just have overload --- THEN they come out with a new album --- I'm as bloody eclectic as the next music nerd --- but ADULT since the day I was introduced to them (and I HATED IT at first...) has been growing on me and growing on me --- it's smart, it's ridiculous --- it's an f-ing amazing feast --- It you love Shostakovich string quartets and a little Peaches for dessert, you'll most likely fall in love with ADULT... and even if you don't care or know what you're listening too... well, then that's too bad for you, I guess...

She reminds me of a young Siouxsie, and the music is discordant enough to keep my brain interested. Highly recommend this band.

Why Bother? offers a tasty set of accessible, entertaining and catchy electronic songs, with the haunting and sarcastic undertones that only Adult. can provide. Several reviewers have already mentioned this, but the album is more exploratory than their earlier, cleaner works, (Hand to Phone). My favorite songs on the album include I Feel Worse When I'm With You, Cultivation and Herd Me

This is Completly Awesome.... So different, from their first cd to this one. They have stayed the same Adult. but with more sound!!!! so in love.
  • ELECTROTRASH for the musically inept.

This group is garbage. The musical composition is akin to hyped up gerbils running back and forth over a yamaha synthesizer. Her lyrics are faux deep at worst and organized ramblings at best. I can almost see why people like them however. At a glance its easy to dismiss them as dark, chaotic and rebellious. Very quickly though one realizes that farts have a better chance of sounding melodic than this sad sad band.

This review is for the song harvest. It will take you through time and space. Oxycodone, coors light and an i-pod.

  • A Darker Shade of D.U.M.E.

Adult. get scarier, colder, and weirder with every record, and yet this is the best since thier Resuscitation-era beginnings. I don't think they give a **** anymore if anybody likes their music. You wonder why you are listening to something so intentionally brutal, and enjoying it so much. Why Bother? finishes whay Anxiety Always started, and Gimmie Trouble just missed. If you liked D.U.M.E., this is for you.
  • This is all my fault.

A few years back, on my birthday, I went and saw Adult. at the Ottobar in Baltimore. I got really really drunk, talked to Nicola after the show and, in a slurred stupor, called them "electroclash"...I regret it to this day. She wasn't too happy about that...Their albums are progressively distancing themselves from electroclash (as if that were still a term). This album is miles ahead of the D.U.M.E. ep and Anxiety Always. That said, I personally prefer the Resuscitation sound to this...Nicola just sounds better when she's talking instead of screaming. Nonetheless, Why Bother? is ballsy and strange...and that's something that can't be said about too many American electronic artists.
