1. Way ahead of their time (even given the Manchester 90’s rave scene influence).
2. 2 bass players!
3. Excellent lyrics!
4. Amazing cover art / graphics.
Check these guys out.
My longest-lived musical love.

I usually move along with the times musically. My playlists are generally composed of music from the past few years. I just get tired of the sound of the day and seek novel sounds. Ned's is the biggest exception to this rule. I have listened to them regularly for over twenty years. There's just something about this band I never grow tired of. At one point, I pawned nearly all of my CD's. Of over 500 albums, I kept maybe thirty, including all five of my Ned's. This and their follow up are my faves, followed by Bite.
God Fodder

My favorite album from start to end. All songs are amazing. Bring me back great memories from my college years.
Could be on the radio today, in 2014, and it would sound fresh

This is still one of my favorite albums of all time. I'm confident that it could be played in 2014 and it would sound fresh and relevant. Neds would be huge today and deserve a lot more credit.
Happy! Guaranteed!!

I have been a fan since their all too brief heyday- me and Matt Pinfield, too few others in the US- and unfortunately never got to see them live. But if there was ever one band I would choose to go see, blow off steam, forget a breakup, or just go out get hammered and have fun it would be The Neds. This cd, and Are You Normal are all you need to be happy for just a little while. Desert Island disc, esp this one. Trust me!
Brill start to finish.

Can't really listen to this album unless it's from the top all the way through, and It's still great 20 years later.

Definitely one of the best records of the 90s. Happy is one of my favorite all time songs. Bass lines are just insane.

Before grunge really took off and changed music Ned's Atomic Dustbin released this amazing album/cd God Fodder. Pain, angst, and rebellion at it's best. Filled with nice melodies and slashing guitars. It's a shame these guys didnt last long.
Eternal classic

I put this album almost on the same par as the first Roses' album as far as it's importance to the late 80's and 90's musical genre. This is a unique sound unrivaled by anyone. You cannot get these songs out of your head. Anyone who was into college radio in the 90's knows the importance of this album. Great songs abound, but the silent classic is "Selfish" complete with a sample from the black cop in "Die Hard". Awesome, awesome, awesome. God bless Ned's.
