I first heard of SOB when I got a 2000 Fold sampler from a local radio station in '99. Needless to say, I bough the CD as soon as it came out and it remains one of my favorite hip hop albums to this day. Favorites are Winnetka Exit, Skullyanamayshun and Part II but the whole album is excellent. Would definitely recommend, especially if you're looking for hip hop and not the pop/techno stuff that they try to pass off for hip hop on the radio today.

Underground rap destroys mainstream posers. "Spies Like Us" is a great song. Definitely in my top 20.

Ryan and Takbir put this album out so far under the radar that it was dangerous to have 2 copies of 2000 Fold for fear you would get gaffled for both. Adding Divine Styler and Chris "007" Barnett to the fold only enhances this true underground classic. Brings back memories of blazing the finest GREEN Cali' has to offer, listening to the Wake Up Show, and enjoying the Golden era of Underground Hip-Hop, with this album at the forefront. These dudes were reppin' the San Fernando Valley to the fullest.
Love this album

I have been listening to this album for the past six years. I still can't find it in me to put it on my shelf and forget about it and move on. Because of this album I have literally bought their entire discography on CD and wax. Make sure you listen to hollograms, killer instinct, style warz, and gollaxowelcome. Also, the reason that this album sounds so different from SOB's other work is because of the presence of Divine Styler. Although it is not currently on iTunes, Divine Styler's Wordpower2: Directrix is a must listen to if you've enjoyed this album.

Yes yes this is it baby. Styles no holds barred - FRESH, original, concise, and hella cleverly catchy tracks'll blast you back to that 1999 loveliness. SO reminiscent of it's time yet so far ahead, it's a dam shame these gifted cats don't drop a joint a year, setting an example to all those would-be could-be hip hop heads. But hey, maybe that's why every spot is so appreciated. Support hip hop, support Styles, cop this album yeaha.

Before their catapult to stardom with Fort Minor, Ryu, Tak, Cheapshot, and Vin Skully were making moves in the underground. "2000 Fold" introduces the listener to the precise and complementary lyricism of Ryu and Tak backed by the dark and sometimes light-hearted production from Vin Skully and Cheapshot. Hints of their San Fernando Valley enclave are dispersed throughout a theme of the complex challenges awaiting at the turn of the millenium and their desire to take over hip hop. Listening to the album, you will realize that these aren't your everyday emcees.
And speaking of that connection with Fort Minor, Mike Shinoda designed the cover art.
