I'm not a fan of this kind of thing. I think Rod Stewart's similar attempts have been an embarassment, and Gaga/Bennett is a disaster. But this album is fantastic. Lauper hits every track out of the park. I'm completely bowled over by her "Walk On By," in particular.

She can change, migrate, re-work, make her own, and still come out on top. She is the epitome of excellence in music and instrumentalist. Her voice is an angel holding up the planet Earth from doom. Thank you Cyndi for your love of music and this awesome album. At Last. 2003

This was such a surprise for me. The arrangements are stunning as well as Cyndi’s vocal interpretations. For me this is her best album - a really unique Cyndi Lauper CD

I'm grew up in the '80s and I really liked her music from that time. I loved that she was different. Today, I was shocked when I heard her rendition of "At Last" on a TV show. I've heard that song many times, but her version was so intense & soulful. It made me feel something. I didn't realize she had made this album. I immediately looked it up and I'm downloading it.
  • "Trooper" ? Really?

Presumably the iTunes review writer means to reference a member of a musical entertainment TROUPE, not an officer on a state police force, so TROUPER, please. The adjective "show-biz" is redundant and unnecessary, unless the writer knows of some kind of really weird cop who patrols Broadway back stages.

In my short stint as a Client Service Rep for Avatar Studios, there were a few times I had to pause, my heart skipping a beat, and listen to magic coming out of a studio. Hearng Cyndi do a vocal take For "Walk On By" was on of those moments. She had taken a mid-tempo standard and turned it into what it was always meant to be. A slow, haunting ballad with all the emotion of seeing your former lover on the street. Pausing as your heart skips a beat. There is equal emotion through-out the disc, "At Last", La Vie en Rose" and then she kicks it with "Sunny Side" and "Stay". Buy this music!
