This is on of those albums that you can listen to from beginning to end. I am Amazed it is not available on Apple Music but lot of less than stellar albums from that era are there.

some of the best soft rock of the seventies, beautifully produced. Not a mediocre song on it.
  • Great folk rock album

"Sittin' In" is a great album. It is similar to "Crosby, Stills & Nash" and Zero 7 - "Simple Things" (coffee-drinking music with tight and complex vocals). "Trilogy..." is my favorite track.

The family grew up with this album. It is better today than ever I realized.

.."That's An Old Sayin' That I Just Made Up!"..Wow; This is a good old "Country-Rock-Chestnut" we remember quite fondly from our early "College Daze!" Just "Sittin' In" with some close friends; sharing Albums & Stories; "Kickin' Back" after a hard afternoon of studying; The perfect time to "Listen To A Country Song!" { Jim Messina & Kenny Loggins both had impressive "Rock Resumes" even before they got together-Messina with the Buffalo Springfield; and Loggins as a Singer/Songwriter for other artists!} So when they joined forces to record this "Classic First Record"; They both knew the bar was set high; And they fully used the studio & Other top-notch players to make "Sittin' In" a bonafide Hit! It's all good; considered as a complete "Song-Cycle" or as a selection of "Strong Singles!" If you dig: John Denver; Jim Croce; Poco; The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band or CSN&Y; You will be singin' along! And "Sittin' In" takes it's place as a "Sweet Seventies Set!"...by Grimmbo.

It would be really hard for me give a review that would be more helpful than the Itunes reviewer. This really is as close to perfect as L& M ever got. The songs are great and so is the playing. But for me it is the sound that Jim Messina got in the studio that makes this album the best that they ever did.
