I cannot believe it!

I have loved Petra's music for so long. It molded my teenage years and always gave me a light during the really difficult teenage and young adult days. I was so skeptical when I saw this album and I was wrong; so wrong. This is Petra, it is everything that you would expect Petra to be. Thank you so much for gifting us this music guys. You have made a difference in my life in the past. You are doing it again! Going to be listening to this a lot in the next few months.

I mean its not their best. I really liked Deliver Us and Kiss the Coals, but it doesnt really feel like the Petra I know and love. I dunno. It might grow on me in the future. I'm not super enthusiatstic about it though.
Over processed

Didn’t feel like the old stuff. Felt repetitive. I’m not going to say they used AI for lyrics. But it sounded like they did. Voice also felt over processed.
Bring back powerful songs like the one based on agape love from 1 Corinthians 13.
Awesome … Petra is back !!!!

I really needed this album. I didn’t think this would ever happen after 23yrs without a new studio release, but Petra ran it back. I was really hopeful that it would be good, and it far exceeded my expectations. This is a great addition to the Petra catalog. The music and lyrics have encouraged me, challenged me, and during this crazy time in our world, it has reminded me where my hope comes from. God bless Petra!
The Petra reunion we’ve been waiting for

And worth with the wait. Musically diverse but grounded in rock, with cutting and moving lyrics and soaring guitar solos. Lawry's keyboard playing really brings the mix to life, and Bailey’s bass gets to shine on tracks like Miracle Maker. This *sounds* like the Petra I grew up on, and I’m floored to be getting new music from these veteran pioneers of the genre.
Petra still got it

A good rocker album that has some surprisingly good “new sounds” for them.

Strong signs of life here from Christian Music’s premier Hard-Rock band!
The album is filled with rich riffs and meaty tones, the playing is tight and energetic and Schlitt’s voice comes through strong, avoiding the signs of age that plague his contemporaries (if only Bon Jovi’s voice held up so well)!
My one PETRA-peeve … would be lyrics and hooks that get shorted of their deserved length! There are multiple instances where, in my opinion, the melody (and therefore the song) suffers from a rushed lyric or hastily uttered phrase. “Skin in the Game”, and “Miracle Maker” are examples of this.
But overall it’s a strong outing and it’s cool to see the band venture into new waters, like the reggae feel of “Oxygen”! The opening track, “Filthy Lucre” rips the package open with it’s admonishment of greed, and “Kiss the Coals” takes us back to the days of the first Petra Praise album, but with an appropriately heavier floor!
It’s great to see the boys are back and haven’t lost their edge, and maybe… they’ll even make some new fans!
Wow!!

I’ve been waiting for this album since it was announced. I downloaded it and listened and it sounds a little like the old Petra but so much better if that makes any sense. Bob did a great job writing, the band is great and John’s voice is still amazing!! This is one that you want to get.
