I can put this on and listen to every single song. It's very modern & futuristic but it's real poppy in a good way, too. There's a ton of great hooks and the songs have real choruses. The Jaxx cover mix in all sorts of genres, stuff you would never expect, but it always stays colorful and fun.
There are even a few slower, mellow ones that are really moving and beautiful. I recommend it highly too people who like all sorts of music.
It sounds like a beautiful explosion!!

Imagine driving down a road in a small beach town on a warm summer day. This is a great representaion of how one feeels Nostalgia .like listening to the oldies station with "way out funky " melodies .Abstract maybe at first .then orgiinal and famillar .not too famillar ;still every time listening to with friends we always notice a new sound combonation .Deffenentley cutting the edge and breaking all boundries.
Think R&B on a good fun note! with a more acid style !

Though there are some tracks i could definetely do without, this is a great album. I think the girl that sings on Take Me Back To Your House is actually Martina Sorbara, a canadian singer.

OK I am not the most objective of reviewers, I just can't get enough of Basement Jaxx.
But WHY is there only one of their music videos available for sale? I wanted to purchase "Romeo" and "Take Me Back To Your House". I guess I will just have to download them for free now. Get with it somebody!

No matter what they do, they'll always impress me. This album has taken similar music styles from past albums, but it also has some new pleasantly-surprising beats mixed throughout. It's the type of album that should not be given a review right away. The more you listen to it, the more you absolutely fall in love. Don't pass up Smoke Bubbles. It's creepy and mysterious with a Jaxx twist, love love love! Jaxx music had been popular for its club anthems in the past, and some are disappointed that this album steers away from that genre just a bit. But it's a successful steer. Plus, the Jaxx are still releasing hits like "Cool It" & "Make Me Sweat" which are quite fast-paced and clublike. They covered all their bases!

I work at a hospital in chicago. At the end of a long, hard day, I will drive home through the city when it is all lit up but barely anyone is out. It's a different world at night. There is only one song that I will listen to everytime I drive home at night and that's "when the lights go down". Do yourself a favor and cruise around the closest city in the middle of the night while listening to that song.
