I listened to this and then re-listened to mockingbird & THE CROW and this one just seems much more rushed and less thought out and less country than that album is. Not a bad album there’s some real gems on this for sure but just slow down brother.

I don’t understand some of the reviews. Just skipping through it today I found some bangers! I can’t get through the whole album because there’s too many good songs that need a repeat! Hardy takes risks that most musicians don’t which is what sets him apart from the herd. Solid so far.

Zero stars. This record is a loud, unfocused mess that mistakes volume for vision. The lyrics feel phoned in, like a collection of rejected bar napkin scribbles. The production is overblown and muddy, burying what little melody there is under layers of cheap bravado. Any sense of artistry is drowned out by clichés and forced attitude. It’s exhausting, not exhilarating. If this was meant to be a statement, it says nothing worth hearing.

I’ve seen a few others point out something I also noticed; this album feels a little off. Either rushed by someone or just produced differently. There’s some great songs on this album, and some that missed the mark because of the choices made with the music accompanying Hardy’s lyrics and voice. Nonetheless, it’s another Hardy album and it might grow on me after several dozen listens. For now, 4 stars is being very generous.
