I know Eric Church is very respected in country music. I've wanted to like him, because of this, but it wasn't until this album that his music finally appealed to me enough to buy one of his albums. I like it VERY much. Great album, Eric!

Great songs but too much orchestra music throughout. Feel the songs would have had more influence and emotion with out all the noise. Love to here it with just traditional country instruments. No brass.

I love me some Eric Church, I have seen him in concert 2x….but overall disappointed with the album. I think his older stuff was more simple, straight-forward and sounded country. I think after Chief, his sound really started to change and his followers may change too. I can appreciate the experimentation, but he should of put some classic Eric Church style songs on the latest album…..sticking with this classic sound….

Eric Church never disappoints. His songs are always achingly honest and relatable. He puts so much emotion into his music and playing and incorporates so many musical elements into it. He always stays true to his sound, not the sound the record companies want. Keep rocking chief.

I love this! Darkest Hour is my absolute favorite and just what I needed. Loved it on the first play! His stuff is so unique and that makes him a true artist!

For those saying it’s not country, you don’t get it. It’s not just country music, it’s music and that my friends is art. He’s been through a lot and he made something to reflect to heal to grow. He made what spoke to him and he made it his way. That’s what makes him the chief. And in case you missed it it earlier, I brought up it is art and as we all know art is subjective. And I can appreciate darkest hour right up there with Carolina and over. This church fan can dig it and so does my 87 year old gma. Country rock blues on Mr church cause we are here for it❤️
