  • Wilde about Kim since the 80’s!

Was highly anticipating the release of Closer since last year and it didn’t disappoint. The first three tunes, Midnight Train, Scorpio, and Trail of Destruction are rockin’ bangers that show Kim’s ability to thrill her fans with fun, high energy songs. It slows the pace down with Sorrow Replaced, a great duet with the talented Midge Ure, and Lighthouse, a continuation of sorts of her powerful ballad Solstice, from Here Comes the Aliens. She again picks up the pace on the next three tracks, Love is Love, Rocket to the Moon, and Hourglass Human, and this time, features the backing vocals of her talented niece, Scarlett Wilde. She ends the album with Stones and Bones and Savasana, both very deep thoughtful tunes covering Kim’s pursuit for the meaning of life and her desire for personal peace and harmony. Overall, this is Kim Wilde’s best album since its sister album, Close, and a great listen from start to finish. If you are a Kim Wilde fan, this is a must have. If not, you need to get on the Midnight Train with Kim and get to know the amazing work of this beautiful and talented star.

This album is great fun start to finish. The 80’s vibes are aplenty but there’s more here than that. Perhaps not as amazing as Come Out & Play, but still an excellent choice for 80’s fans!
  • Amazing!

This album is a synth drivin pop trip from beginning to end. I never wanted it to end! It is a testament that Wilde still has a grip on today’s sound! Don’t pass this by. You won’t regret it!

You'd think after all these years Wilde would've moved past that gawdawful '80s production. Some of these songs might be half decent, but they're buried under a mountain of bad keyboards, bad drum sound, and every other stereotypical '80s studio shortcut.
