But SO glad I finally made it. This stuff is incredible, if you are any kind of misfit, outsider, or just an old and socially unacceptable weirdo (as I am), this album has the juice for you. Ridiculously catchy and tightas a drum pop music paired with the kind of dark lyrics that stay with you. The album both hearkens back to the old goth-pop heyday of the late eighties / early 90's, and careens manically into the future. it's full of nervous energy, bleakly amused ennui, and righteous anger. Without question one of the best albums of 2024. Her live show is prety fantastic too, strong overtones of Nina Hagen / Kate Bush, without ever seeming derivative or cliched. She uses that high soprano vocal range to shoot some serious sonic daggers. TLDR: No more sleeping on AllieX, that's for sure.

But Allie X is such an amazing artist and this album is the love child of new order, Depeche Mode, ADULT, and Ladytron. It’s phenomenal and so many songs stand out. Staying Power and Truly dreams are favorites of mine.

The music industry’s best kept secret.

Cape God was one of my favorite albums of all time, so you already know I was going to tune into this one immediately. Allie also co-wrote one of my favorite BTS songs - Louder than Bombs. This album is Allie’s first set-produced record, and it DELIVERS. She’s a wonderful and quirky storyteller, with ear-catching hooks and big sounds that fill you all the way up.

I heard Depeche Mode reborn. Well done.

Allie X is bringing back the early 2000s electro-pop sound and I'm here for it.

I mean, this album is pure perfection. Built with the rage of reinvention but wanting to stay true to who you are and what you’ve built. Allie X is an artist for all age.
