A good album now that the garbage tracks are gone.

It’s hard to believe, but Sony and the Michael Jackson estate screwed up the first major album of new Michael Jackson material in 9 years, and his first major posthumous release. Not only that, the first single from the album was sung by an impostor. Most fans knew from the opening lyrics of “Breaking News” the vocals weren’t him, but Sony and the estate persisted. Two more awful tracks appeared on the album as well. There were also another ten or so tracks from the same producers (Eddie Cascio and James Porte) that were unreleased. Not a single one of those songs feature authentic MJ vocals, only an impostor with bits of MJ samples lifted from other songs.
It was a joke, and it still defies logic how that album and those songs got released as authentic Jackson material. I can’t imagine any other legend like Prince, Stevie Wonder, The Beatles or Elvis having such an inept estate.
It’s a shame it took this long to happen, but I’m happy those songs were thrown in the trash bin where they rightly belong.
