This might just be the best album of 2022. I cannot get enough of Rina Sawayama's music and lyrics. She is true stardom and the world deserves to hear her.

She’s really showing us the true range of talent, artistry, and dedication to pop music she had to offer. So glad we all get to witness it and listen to her music!
  • Stellar, Productive Vision

She’s manic, for being apprehensive in what ideal realism is. She’s accurately, made to personify the situations, of being a redeemable woman, she negotiated her realm in music. Please buy this direct, piece of her discography, her considered 3rd but official 2nd debut album. I fully support her, the enthusiasts are that we gravitate towards surrealism. ✌️ to everyone involved and her demographic in any expansion of the creative force to drive serene sense.

  • Polished Pop Album Lacking Heavy Production of Sawayama

Very polished pop album with a few really great tracks. However, it feels like it’s lacking some of the heavy production and metal influences we got with her previous album “Sawayama”. Some of the tracks have a feeling of sameness so you may leave the album feeling a lack of experimentation and variety. Solid and strong effort, but Sawayama still reigns supreme.
  • Pop’s Next Superstar

Rina Sawayama is the pop star 2022 needs, but one must wonder whether we deserve her. As so many have already noted, Rina is quite possibly the only artist to debut in the last decade with the charisma, show(wo)manship, and unrelenting dedication to her art to justify comparisons to Lady Gaga. Where her debut, Sawayama, was experimental and wrought with fiery angst, her sophomore release, Hold the Girl, presents a new Rina - introspective, fragile, yet endlessly headstrong about who she was, is, and plans to be. Each track is meticulously crafted for maximum emotional impact - ranging from the subtle nuance of “Minor Feelings” to the fractured electronica of “Frankenstein.” Prepare for a journey through the psyche of pop’s rightful next superstar.

This record feels like it’s own entity compared to Sawayama, yet still staying experimental and mixing genres as well. The production quality is out of this world, and the lyrics!?!?!? Cmon now
