This project does what I believe Kanye’s Donda project attempted to do integrate soul, hip hop faith and inspiration without being “preachy” or over baring in its approach. It’s a refreshing alternative for those looking for good ole bars and drill styled flow alike while also maintaining a vulnerability that is sorely lacking in the hip hop genre. This is where mature hip hop is going easily comparable to Nas recently released “Kings Disease” albums and Common’s “a Beautiful Revolution” projects. Instant Classic
