  • Action Reaction - Often Overlooked Greatest Hit Gem

My rating is for the song "Action Reaction", only. The rest of the album stinks. - I consider "Action Reaction" one of Missing Person's top 10 greatest hits. This song was never released on any original Missing Persons studio album. It originally showed up on 1997's 'Late Night, Early Days" live cd, and as a bonus track on the remaster of the their "Rhyme & Reason" CD some time around 2002-2004. After listening to both versions, I think this remixed version is the best take on the song. It has a much more grittier and updated sound than the original. If I had to own only 1 version of the song, this would be it..

The only track I like is No Way Out. Other than that, I threw my money down the toilet for the album. Shoulda read the reviews first. Lesson learned!

The remixes are completely 110% boring rehash. Drum machines taking the place of one of the Top 25 Drummers of All Times. There should be a law against this. Check out the originals They Are Great!

These songs stand on their own in their original forms. The only song worth listening to in this collection is the TV Mania Remix of Destination Unknown. And actually - it's a goody! Otherwise, be prepared to hold your nose and cover your ears when you listen to this.
  • One song's a gem...

I'm not a huge Missing Persons fan, but they had their respected place in post-punk pop history. However, If you are a fan of the tune "Destination Unknown", check out the "TV Mania Remix" which was edited by Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran. It's an awesome reworking of the song. The Smashing Pumpkins also do a fantastic cover of this song.
