I recently discovered Billie Marten on Youtube via her "Peach" video. The songs "Mice" and "Boxes" just latched onto my mind, and I found myself singing them througout the day. She has an incredibly sweet tone accented with carefully controlled breaks. Her music is calm and beautiful, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a little music to sink into like a warm bath.

She’s done again. And what’s more impressive is that she stayed true to who she is as a artist and didn’t feel the need to completely change your sound on her second album.
I admire musicians who can stay true to what they want to sound like without feeling the need to reinvent themselves.

The closest I could compare Billie’s music, and the way these songs make you feel, is to Bon Iver. His music has a feeling to it, it gives off a mood; and Marten does the same here. With an airiness to her voice and a calming tone, paired with the foot tapping tunes, it’s hard not to feel at ease listening to it.
