Rookie of the Year sounded like such a cheesy name to me when my friend first introduced me to their music.. But I'm so glad I was introduced to this indie/emo/pop band. The lyrics are super poetic and the songwriting/structure is superb. The tunes aren't super upbeat and poppy.. they're the slow lovesong kind of rock, but Ryan hooks you in. He's a talented musician that has had a lot experience in the music world from playing in hardcore bands to helping his other friends with their projects. When I approached him about his music after a show he was really passionate about what he does for a living, and he still has the energy and excitement of someone that just discovered music for the first time. Although, he's definitely no longer a Rookie.

Ambient, heavy, catchy, and poignant. From top to bottom this is one of the best albums ever.

Although I didnt buy this album i absolutely love The Blue Roses! I like how it starts out slow and his voice is amazing, and then towards the end i like how the pace is faster. This is such a beautiful song! I love it =]

I went to one of my friends band(now broken up)'s shows and they opened for this band, i was so amazed, they are my favorite band this is the most amazing album i have ever listened too. flat out awesome, the only song that's not completely amazing is Silhouettes, still a very good song though, They finished recording last week i heard so they should have a new album out soon!!!!! way to go Rookie of the Year

This album is fantastic! If you enjoy this, you should check out the singer Ryan's first band called Farewell to Fashion. They have a cd on here call "You Couldn't Possibly" It is awesome....it's cool to see where ryan came from.

usually,i dont go for the whole emo thing but this has got to be one of the best bands out there.i first heard of them on MTVU but i couldnt watch the whole video.the song Liars and Battlelines is awsome.i would buy the entire album but i omly 9 cents left do ....yeah.thats alll i gots to say.

Awesome band, awesome album, and incredible live performance. These guys rock so if you ever get a chance to go see them, don't miss it. Usually I would say just buy a few songs on an album but each track on this record just draws you in...I definitely recommend it and can't wait for the next album!
