I remember seeing a clip of Joey posting the album on and complaining that he had school the next day. I can’t believe that he dropped a top 5 mixtape in high school, and none of his classmates even knew! Snakes was the song that got me hooked to him. If you like this album you have the right taste for sure. Joey Bada$$ deserves the love and fame for the amazing song writing and lyrics he puts into his songs!!!

I think it's safe to say this album, (or mixtape I guess, even though it's good enough to be an album) will go down as a classic, if it hasn't already. I'm still playing songs like Daily Routine, Righteous Minds, Waves, Survival Tactics, Funky Ho$, FromdaTomb$ etc, and probably will be for years to come. Sadly with a first album of this high quality, it's very hard to top it, and Joey has yet to, and I don't think he probably ever will. That's not to say he still doesn't release some fire, The Light is classic Joey, All-Amerikkkan Bada$$ was one of the best rap albums of the 2010's, but they still can't top this. I think it is that on his first project Joey was so fresh and so hungry, so he can still rap but it just doesn't have the same hunger to it. Also he chooses to rap in a harder more aggressive style now, compared to his more chill and laid back delivery here, I think this suits him better.
